frequently asked questions
answers to common questions about the trial, billing, your data, and how the product works.
How does the trial work?
You get a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start, but no charge is made today. If you cancel before day 15, you are never billed. If you do nothing, the first charge occurs automatically at the end of the trial period.
If you change your mind after the first charge, you have 7 days to request a refund — see our Refund Policy for full details.
How do I cancel?
Cancel through your Lemon Squeezy customer portal, linked from your account page. Cancellation stops future renewals immediately. Your access continues until the end of the current paid period — you won't lose access mid-month.
What data do you store about me?
Your account email address and subscription status — nothing else. Your trade journal, screenshots, tags, and notes stay on your machine and are never uploaded to our servers.
See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Desktop vs web — what's the difference?
Both let you journal trades. The desktop app (Windows) adds an always-on-top popout window so you can log while your chart is visible, a global keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+J), and your data lives in SQLite on your machine. The web app runs in any modern browser and requires no install.
Does it connect to my broker?
No, by design. You log trades manually. This is the point — the act of typing it forces you to recall what happened and why, which is where the reflection lives. Broker-connected auto-import tools show you what happened; wicknote is for understanding why.
What platforms does it run on?
Web: any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Desktop: Windows only right now. macOS and Linux are on the roadmap.
What happens to my journal if I cancel?
Your data stays on your machine. Cancelling stops billing and access to subscription features, but your local journal files are yours and are not deleted. You can export your data at any time.
Is this for me?
wicknote is for discretionary futures and prop-firm traders — people trading MNQ, NQ, ES — who want to understand their own behavior, not import analytics. If you already know your setup but keep making the same mistakes, this is for you.
